Help with old pattern

#1

The pattern specifies yfwd, yrn, k4. Would that mean an increase of 3 with every repeat?

Also, second line says p2tog, p1 into yrn? K1 into yfwd? I know what yrn and yfwd means, just not in this context?

Any help appeciated thanks!

Welcome to KH!
What is the name of your pattern?
The yfwd, yrn is probably a double yarn over so an increase of 2sts. On the next row, purl into the first yo and knit into the second.
I usually count up the number of sts in the pattern row or repeat to make sure everything comes out ok.
