I don’t quite understand-- are you going to knit this yourself?

Well, he is kind of cute. I don’t have experience making patterns nor do I have the time right now though. Sorry!

maybe you can find an amigurumi pattern to get close to the body shape and modify it some.

Hi Jack!

Knitting Help folks are more than happy to help you with a pattern that you already have in your possession!

This little doll is cute! If you find the pattern, and if you have any trouble deciphering the directions, post your questions in our HOW TO section!

Good luck!

You might have a hard time locating a knitting designer to draw up the plans, whether here or elsewhere!

Good luck!

it looks similar to the adipose pattern that was pulled off the net recently over copyright issues (i’ve heard this is turning out quite well for the one who designed the pattern!).

So you may also need to check and see what the copyright laws are regarding the creature too.

if someone had the time to make a pattern to sockboy because i wouldn’t know where to start

Unfortunately, we’re all knida busy with our own projects. Sorry, could be a cute one, but maybe you could find something similar enough for you to modify.

Same goes for me, Jack. I’m a good knitter, but I knit from patterns. I designed one sweater for my dear brother, and it was a knitting nightmare. It took forever, with lots of re-knitting and re-tooling along the way! The sweater turned out great, but I couldn’t put all the details down in writing even now. My notebook is a jumble of figures and sketches. I can hardly read my own notes!

Sorry. I just cannot develop a pattern for your doll much less commit it to a “pattern” for someone else to knit from!

You could visit a local yarn shop in your area…and ask the shop owner if he/she knows someone who would design the pattern for you. You’d have to pay for the service, but if you really want this sock doll, it may be your only option.

Also, if you take some knitting classes, you might learn the basics of knitting and shaping…and you might learn how to knit your doll yourself by ‘sight knitting’.

Some people are real good at that. They don’t use a pattern, and they don’t write down the pattern as they knit their way along. They just do it by sight and feel.
