Help with leaves cardigan
Welcome to KH!
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Maybe this Leaves cardigan?
I’ve knit this one and I’ve edited my previous response which was wrong. All you need to work here is a single yarn over (yon). No other movement of the yarn is needed. I remember questioning this same yfwd, yrn at the time. Just work a simple yarn over and the pattern works out.
Sorry for any confusion.
Yes that’s the pattern thank you so much now my next question is when it comes to the purl side how do you purl the double yarn over? It has me totally baffled!
Hello
I think what salmjnmac is saying is that there is no double yarnnjver, just a regular single yarn over, so no need to think about ourling a double yarn over on the wrong side.
The two k3tog (decreasing 4 stitches in total) are balanced out by two yarn overs and two M1 (4 increases in total). The yarn overs are both single and seperated by other stitches.
The pattern is just a bit confusing that it describes the two yarn overs in different ways. I wonder if it intends for the yarn to be taken in a different direction but I doubt it would make a big inference, regardless it’s still only a single.
Hope this helps.
Thank you I was wondering myself about the double yarn over. Thanks again that makes perfect sense!
It does help thank you so much I’ve ripped it out I don’t know how many times!
Thanks again
Yup, the knitters on Ravelry have commented on this yarn over question too. Just work a conventional yarn over and purl it on the next row. The cardigan is darling and a lovely gift for your granddaughter.
Thank you so much for your help I’m sure I’ll be back when knitting more!
We’d love to see a photo of this cardigan when you finish. I love the pattern and found the multiple names for what was really a simple yarn over was the only error.
I’ll post a pic when I’m done
Thank you
