I have not been knitting long but Im getting comfortable with the basics.
I have taken on this new pattern and I am stumped!
Cast on 36sts. (Check!)
Row1 WS: K (Nailed it!)
Row2: K1, yo, k16, [yo, k1] twice, yo, k16, yo, k1 -41 sts
Uummmm lol. I started the pattern but ran out of stitches during the second set of 16 at stitch 13.
The math works out correctly. It should take 36sts to work the row and leave you with 41 sts.
Check the way that you are doing the yarn over. A yarn over doesn’t use a stitch. Bring the yarn to the front between the needles, then over the right needle to the back. That’s all it is.
Gasp!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve watched what feels like 3 hours of YouTube tutorials trying to figure this out, but because I always saw a yarn over following by a knit stitch I assumed it was all one step.
On to the next row!
