Hello, this pattern is for written and charted in Japanese… but I thought I could handle it. But now my brain hurts and I’ve just started. :think:
I believe this sweater is supposed to be knitted flat and seemed together. But the chart has all the row numbers on the right side as if it’s in the round. Do I just purl all the wrong side rows or am I doing something horribly wrong?

It’s a little hard to tell whether this is in the round or knit flat but no matter. Looks like you can purl on the wrong side rows for the pattern if you’re knitting flat.
Often patterns have a key for the chart the tells you something like the open boxes are knit on the RS and purl on the WS. It’s a little hard to tell whether this is in the round or knit flat just based on the chart but no matter.
Really good looking pattern. Love to see the finished project if you’d like to post a photo.
