Help with knitting in the round please?

Thank you so much!

Things seem to be going much smoother now. The only real issue I’m having is how much I’m being slowed down by having to drag the work around the needle when I’m knitting - I’m not sure if this is normal or it’s just that I’ve got poor quality needles and usually they should just slide around easily?

Either way, it’s not causing too much of a problem and I’m really getting into the swing of things. I’m about halfway through the body part now  feeling very accomplished!

Great news! Thanks for letting us know.
The drag might be the type of needle you’re using. Bamboo and wood are going to be “grabbier” than metal needles.
The length of cable is a consideration too. If you have too few stitches for the cable length It can force you to drag the stitches around the needles. A technique like magic loop or 2 circular needles might make this easier.
And of course, if you’re a tight knitter, you’ll have to move the stitches around.
Enjoy working this baby romper.

Thank you all so much for your help with this! I’ve finished the first pair and have attached a picture

Now starting the second pair in a coral pinky colour.

Absolutely adorable! You’ve worked this out so well. Can’t wait to see the next pair.

Oh goodness. This is quite possibly the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
The pattern is soooo loverly and you have knit it beautifully!

One thing you might consider while the pattern is fresh in your mind (and you possibly have some left over yarn) is making some extenders for the straps so that they can be buttoned on to add length and extend the life of the romper.
I made a little dress with button down straps with some extra length so the buttons could be moved.

Looking forward to seeing the second one.

Incredibly adorably cute! Well done!
