Just to be clear, if you’ve worked a K1, YO and the next stitch is a P2 then you would need to bring the yarn around the right needle again to the front to work the P2.
If you’ve worked a purl stitch and the next stitch is a K1 the you would just need to drape the yarn over the right needle to create the YO.
