Help with Kensington Mitts Pattern

So I am making Annie Modesitt’s “Kensington Mitts” pattern (from Jane Austen Knits 2011) and have been working the Horseshoe Lace pattern while increasing for gusset stitches as directed. Now I have the original number of stitches I started with, and 13 gusset stitches at the beginning of the round, separated from the original stitches with a marker. The next step in the pattern is to “Work 9 rnds even - row 10 of chart is complete.” So, I know I need to work rounds 2-10 of the chart, but do I work them over the gusset stitches as well as the original stitches or just over the original stitches?

Thank you.

If this is the pattern,

it looks like the thumb gusset is knit sts with the purl ridges continued across them. It doesn’t look like the lace pattern is continued across the gusset. (if it’s not the same pattern, can you give us a link to the pattern?)

Thanks, I see what you are talking about in one of the pictures, the gusset would be knit, then the pattern worked on the original stitches, then the next part says “work 3 rnds in garter stitch” and that would be all the way across, both gusset and original stitches. Does that sound right?

Yes, that sounds right and looks like the photo. Have fun making the rest of the mitts and post a photo if you’d like. We’d love to see the finished ones.
