It’s just the pattern I am struggling to get.

Thanks

Yes, but where are you in the pattern, on the shape armholes or later?

At the shape armholes for the second size the pattern is:
Next Row: Cast off 2sts in patt, patt to end 32sts.
Next Row: Patt.
Work 2 rows dec 1 st at armhole
edge in every row AT SAME TIME dec 1
st at neck edge as before in 1st row. 29sts.

The pattern that you are working is the k1,p1 for 2 rows followed by p1,k1 for 2 rows, a type of moss stitch. What was the pattern when you began the last row before these instructions? Was that a row 1,2,3 or 4?
1st Row: K1, *P1, K1, rep from * to last 2sts, K2.
2nd Row: K2, *P1, K1, rep from * to last st, P1.
3rd Row: P1, *K1, P1, rep from * to last 2sts, K2.
4th Row: K2, *K1, P1, rep from * to last st, K1.

How do I Rib2tog?

If you’re working a knit and a purl stitch together, you can either knit 2tog or purl 2 tog depending on which stitch you would like on top. If it’s 2 purls, p2tog. If it’s 2 knits, k2tog.

Done the first bit on the work 18 rows bit and need some help how to do it

There are a couple of ways to work this because the pattern is going to change from rib to stockinette anyway. According to the pattern for the second size, row 18 will start with a purl stitch in the 1x1 rib.
P,k,p,p2tog, (k,p,k,p2tog) (p,k,p,p2tog) and so on along the row, alternating the repeats in parentheses. Look to the columns of knit and purls in the previous rows to confirm how to work the stitch after the decrease, the p2tog.
I’d go with p2tog for all of these decreases since this is probably a WS row and the next row, a RS row will be knit across.

The alternative is to go rogue and work row 18 in rib ignoring the decreases and then work the decreases in the following all knit row. Just (k3, k2tog) across the row to the last 3 stitches, k3. Just make sure you work 7 decreases to take you from 38sts to 31.

What is the name of this pattern?

Pattern 5665

Maybe this one?

Yes that one

Hi,

Working on the pattern above. The left and right side are the same only bit thats different is the bit that says using C.

Left Front is work 8 rows and
Right Front is work 9 rows.

Why would that not be the same?
Just interested to know why .

Thanks

The difference in the number of rows is so that you’ll end up at the seam or armhole edge, ready to cast off for the armhole. On the right front the cast off is at the beginning of a purl row while on the left front the cast off is at the beginning of a knit row.

Knit and slip 7 sts onto stitch holder for neckband , knit to end
I am knitting so many stitches first then putting 7 onto holder or putting 7 onto holder first?

Thanks

It’s not as clear as it could be but it’s probably: Knit 7sts, slip them onto a stitch holder…
Is this the right front?

Thanks yeah it’s the right front

Thanks for your help
