Help with Giraffe ears

Please help! Doing this little Girraffe:

I am up to the top of the neck with size 5 dpn’s and need to start the “continue for ears”. I am clueless how to go about it. I have searched for videos on knitting back and forth but I am only finding it for circular needles not dpn.
I have tried it and ripped it out several times.
knitting w/two colors on dpn?
BTW originally started with two colors then once I got to neck it was way too difficult. I am sure I wasn’t doing it correctly. I was winging it. Anyone references/sources for that would be appreciated also. I could only find knitting flat with two colors.

I gotta say I have no idea…it doesn’t make sense to me, but maybe if you just try it it’ll make sense as you go.

BTW…I saw on Ravelry that you’re not the only one who had trouble with the ears.
