Help with gift idea

I’d like to make something personally for my SIL to give to her at her baby shower. While I already made a layette for my future niece or nephew, a baby blanket, and baby toys, I want to do something special for my SIL just for her. It’s going to have to be something knitted or crocheted, but I have only a month to do something. Any ideas?

What about a shawl that she could use to wrap her shoulders while rocking the baby, breast feeding in the middle of the night, reading…maybe a pair of comfy socks or slippers that can be pulled on easily in the middle of the night…

Thanks! These are great ideas because I don’t know her exact size, so I was hoping to make something relatively non-fitted. :cheering:

I was going to suggest a shawl, too.

Yup, a shawl is the first thing that came to my mind as well.

i was going to surgest a shawl as well.

A shawl would be lovely! Or, how about a nice warm pair of felted slippers to keep her feet toasty as she stumbles off to those midnight feeding!

I’d have to say shawl too.

But another thing that would be great is to buy her a tea pot and knit or crochet a cozy for it. Get her a nice tea mug with a matching cozy as well. Fill a basket with these items and give it to her as a relaxation gift. As a new mom, God knows your tea will cool before you can drink it all. Maybe a tea cozy would be nice.

Also, I’ve given bath mitts and scrubs. I actually made a bath scrub the apricot scrub to use with it. I found it all on DIY. Also, All Free Crafts has some good suggestions.

Or… how about a stylish felted bag to keep not only diapers, but mommy-items too. I HATE diaper bags. They are so ugly and I always carried a roomy, stylish tote instead.
