Help with figuring out chart please

I should know better than to read some posts in detail…they will just contain links to patterns, and I will be tempted to add onto my growing list of what to knit next! :teehee:

webbfamily posted a link for a headband on Knitty called Nakiska, and I LOVE IT!!! :inlove: But the cable pattern is written in a chart, and I’m really intimidated by charts. So I’m wondering if somebody can PLEASE tell me if I read the chart right? Since it’s knitted in the round, you read all eight lines of the pattern from right to left, right? Okay…here goes…

Row 2: C2F & K2, P2, C3F & K3, K3, P2
Row 3: K4, P2, K9, P2
Row 4: K4, P2, K9, P2
Row 5: K4, P2, K9, P2
Row 6: C2F & K2, P2, K3, C3B & K3, P2
Row 7: K4, P2, K9, P2
Row 8: K4, P2, K9, P2

You are reading the chart correctly.

Just so you know, the correct way to write a cable instruction is like this: C4B (slip 2 stitches on a cable needle and hold to front, K2, K2 stitches from cable needle) or C6F (slip 3 stitches on a cable needle and hold to back, K3, K3 stitches from cable needle)
