I am fairly new to knitting, mainly doing scarves right now. I wanted to try something different, and chose the Fagott Stitch. I had a terrible time with the K2tog. When I try to pick up the first stitch, I have trouble getting the needle through, but the second stitch, being the YO. seems really loose. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggustions would be greatly appreciated!!! I reallly wanted to do a loose, open stitch for this scarf, but have given up, lol!!!
How do you wrap the sts? If you do them backwards, that can twist your sts and make them tighter. Or maybe you just knit tight; don’t pull the yarn after you make a stitch, working the next one will tighten it automatically.
I yarn over just as I would if I were knitting it. I think that is the correct way. Maybe I do just knit too tightly.
Maybe you’re wrapping all the sts backwards is what I meant. If you did, then that could make the sts for the k2tog tight. Check the knit videos.
