Help with directions

Hi. i’m starting a baby jacket and my pattern is from the uk and i need help with the directions.
1st row: *k1, p1, rep from * to last st, k1
2nd row: p1, *k1, p1, rep from * to end.
1st and 2nd row = 1x1 rib
work 7 more rows in 1x1 rib
10th row: rib 9, rib2tog, (rib 9, rib2tog) 3 times, rib 9.

i just need help with row 10.

Do 9 sts in ribbing (p k p k p k p k p) then k or p 2tog, then another 9 sts in ribbing and another k/p 2tog and repeat, ending with 9 sts in ribbing.

The tricky part is figuring out whether to do a k2tog or p2tog, so the next st will be in ribbing.
