I’m attempted to knit my first baby cardigan, but have got stuck on the neck shape. I don’t know how to keep pattern whilst decreasing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can account for the decreased stitches and work the pattern subtracting them at either end. Alternatively, you can look at the pattern established in previous rows and figure out how to maintain that pattern without mis-aligning it. This is reading your knitting.
Remember too that if the decreases affect the pattern of k2tog, yfwd then you should give up that part of the repeat. Don’t work just a partial, but give up both the k2tog and the yfwd.
