Help with decreases!

For one thing, HI! I’m brand new.

I have been knitting for several years but I’m just now tackling my first sweater. In the pattern, the instructions for the sleeve shaping (they’re inset sleeves) call for decreasing at each edge, every row. This means I’m decreasing on the wrong side every other row, which I’m not used to doing. I knit the first sleeve, and the left-slanting decreases I knit on the wrong side look terrible! On the right side, my left-slanting decrease of choice is sl, k, psso which usually looks great, but when I do it on the wrong side it looks like a mess.

So my question is, when decreasing on the wrong side is unavoidable, how can I make decreases that will slant to the left on the right side that look good? Is it possible?

When I decrease for the sleeves of a sweater, I generally just k2tog or p2tog in the last two stitches. I always figure that they’re going to be part of the seam, anyway, and won’t show.

I guess this doesn’t answer your question, though, huh.

Have you check out Amy’s videos on different types of decreases?

Thank you - I chronically make things harder than they need to be! I appreciate the help. And thanks for the video link - I hadn’t seen that, but it’s a great resource.
