Help with decreases in the round

Hi I’m still knitting the top of my hat and I’m using to circular needles. I’m supposed to knit 2 rows , 3rd next row k10, k2tog, 3rd row knit, 4th row k10, k2tog. My problem is on the 4th row I only have 6 stitches before moving on to the next round.

Do I not do a decrease before moving on to the next row?

Or should I knit the last two stitches together?

Could I decrease less every row, instead of knitting a row and decreasing the next row,so that I don’t keep running into this problem

LOL…or does someone have another suggestion on how I could do this. I’m knitting a flat disc for a top of a hat.

Usually the number of knit sts between the k2tog is supposed to dec, so it probably should have read k9, k2tog and that would leave you with the right right number at the end of the round. You can take out that row to the first dec, back up one st, k2tog, then go from there k9, k2tog. The next dec round should probably be k8, k2tog, etc.
