Can someone figure this part out for me please! It starts with 45sts. I’m doing the 3rd size so should end with 22sts. I’m starting on wrong side and want the armhole to the right and neck edge to the left.
If anyone can explain or understand this for me I’d be so grateful! I’m so confused, and don’t want to quit after spending so many hours completing the back.
It’s a sweater vest I’m completing for a Christmas present for my Grandad.
Help with crochet pattern Please!
I never crochet clothes but will try to explain as I understand.
start on armhole side and skip first 6sts than in pattern finish the row. Continue working in patern for rows 1-3 and decrease one sts on armhole side in next 5 rows.
Skip 6 sts and finish in pattern. RS
Row 1 dec 1 sts on end of row (WS). Turn
Row 2 dec 1 sts and finish row in pattern (RS). Turn
Row 3 dec 1 sts on end of row (WS). Turn
Row 4 dec 1 sts and finish row in pattern(RS). Turn
Row 5 dec 1 sts on end of row (WS). Turn
Row 6 starts decreasing on neck edge 1 sts every second row 6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,26, 28th row
That wil be 45 -6-5-12=22
Im not sure is that armhole on right or left side as you wear it but im sure counting is wright you end with correct sts for your size:grinning:
Other better crocheters will chime in😅
Thank you so much! I was really confused why it said work in pattern for row 1-3 when surely I would work in pattern the whole time…
The maths works out with what you’ve figured out, thank you again! I haven’t been very well and could not summon the energy to figure it out
Hope you feel better soon. Your Grandad will love it no matter what.
I crochet with thread only mostly lace, never did clothes or toys
You got a good answer, much better than I could do. The only thing I would add is that if your yarn is at the beginning of the row where you skip 6 sts you can slip stitch across those stitches rather than cutting it.
Thank you! I did slip stitch across and it worked perfectly.
