Hi. I am knitting an experimental sock on DPS. Knit a few rows and purl a few rows for a textured stripe effect. I’ve found that there is a untidy or jog at the end of the purl rows. Is there a method I can use to make this look more tidy?
Because you are knitting in the round, there will always be a slight step-off when you switch stitches or colors.
I know that you can avoid the problem with color-knitting by knitting in the row below (jogless stripes).
But, I am unaware of a way to avoid the problem when switching between stitch types (k to p, p to k).
With color stripes you can do what they call a jogless jog, but I don’t know if it’ll work with purls.

The reason this happens is because circular knitting is reallyl a spiral.
