Help with Bubble Stitch

Hey Everyone!

I was hoping you experienced knitters could give me a hand…

I’m currently knitting a Cardigan (it’s the ‘Made with love by Tom Daley’ Cuddle Cardigan)

I’m not experienced at all so it’s been a bit of a challenge, but starting to get the hang of it!

The sleeves are mostly bubble stitch, and the explanation of row 12 in the pattern is really confusing me. I’ve put a picture below - am I being dense?

It seems like they’re saying Knit 1 1 bubble stitch, knit 3 and repeat that until the last three stitches……but then at the last 3 stitches there’s an instruction that covers 4 stitches.

Am I making sense? Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated.

Thank you!

It looks like a mistake in the pattern. Row 12 should probably end k1 instead of k2.

Ahhhh that would make sense. Thank you so much! :grinning:

We’d love to see a photo when you finish. It’s a great looking cardigan.

Hey, the pattern is a 4 stitch repeat.
So maybe the error in Row 12 is repeat until count not the last k count.
REPEAT to last 4 sts then K1, (ladder Bubble stitch), k2 works.

And the whole “ladder 1 stitch down 4 rows and pick up from the 5th row down trapping all the foats” from the laddered row in the new stitch reminds me of a thread where we were trying to figure out a lost pattern from a completed blanket. (Link to the scarf thread with a similar stitch.)

I find the similarity interesting.
