I need help with the above. I would be knitting first size. Any help gratefully received!

For the first size it reads
Dec 1 st at neck edge of next 6 rows and at the same time cast off 3 sts at beginning of 2nd and following 2 alternate rows.
Dec 1 stitch at neck edge on rows 1 2 3 4 5 6
Cast off 3 sts at beg of rows 2, 4, 6
The instructions with a dash for your size can be ignored.
