I am knitting a Debbie Bliss matinee baby sweater in a size 3-6mos. The pattern consists of a row of k1, yo, k2, sk2p, k2, yo alternating with a row P. I started out with 81 cast ons. If I have my math right, this pattern will add 1 stitch each time it is repeated. This seems like too much increase and I’m concerned that there might be a mistake in the pattern. I did check the debbie bliss website, but could not find a correction for this particular pattern.
Any help would be appreciated.
I haven’t seen the pattern, but my impression is that the number of stitches will stay the same, not increase.
The two yo’s means 2 extra stitches created, but the sk2p cancels that by decreasing 2 stitches for each pattern repeat… (for the sk2p you use 3 stitches but end up with 1).
I was just going to say the same thing, it’s slip1, k2tog, psso for the decrease, so it should be even.
Thank you for your help. I just rewatched the video on how to do a skp. I was doing it wrong, I was passing the slipped stitch over to my original needle instead off passing it off the needle.
