Help With Baby Booties

Ok…I thought I got it…but, I don’t get it. I don’t have the link for the pattern because I saved it as a word doc before I learned my lesson to copy the link onto the document for future reference. Here’s the picture of where I stopped

Here’s the next instructions and my current confusion:??

Foot
With RS facing and instep to left, knit across 12 sts on first holder, pick up and knit 14 sts along side edge of instep, knit across 15 instep sts, pick up and knit 14 sts along other side of instep, knit 12 sts from 2nd holder. (67 sts)

As you can see from the picture, the first and last 12 stitches are on scrap yarn holders and my yarn is no longer attached anywhere. Do I put the (bottom) 12 stitches back on my needle? Do I take the middle stitches off and put them on a holder? HELP:wall:

Put the first set of stitches (on the top of your picture) on the needle and knit them. Then pick up 14 stitches along the edge up to where the stitches are on the needle. Knit across those live stitches, and pick up 14 down the other side of the instep, finally knitting across the second set of stitches (put on a needle, of course.) If you just slip the stitches that are on the yarn onto a dpn, even if it’s not the same size, you should be fine.

But, the 12 on the bottom were the first ones I knit. Also, before I knit 12 that are one waste yarn…do I put the middle stitches on waste yarn, or leave them on the needle & then put the 12 on the same needle. I know I’m probably over thinking it…but, I tend to do that once I get stuck:wink:

I figured that you’d start with the stitches on top so you’d be working on the right side of the bootie and you’d be working right to left.

You can leave the stitches on the needle for the toe end of the bootie, because at this point you’re going to work all the stitches onto one needle for the sole.

So, knit across the first 12, pick up along the side, knit across the stitches on the needle, pick up down the other side and knit the final 12. All the stitches will be on the one needle and attached.

Maybe the drawing I did in this post last week will help explain it. I think the construction is similar if not the same pattern. Give it a second for the image to load.

Yes:yay: almost exactly the same…I’m diving in…wish me luckCrossed Fingers
