Help with Baby Bootie Pattern Please?

I’m so very confused with this bootie pattern. Can someone help me? I have only ever knitted hats and scarves, so this lil bootie is pretty advanced knitting for me. Here’s what I’ve done so far. I hope I’ve explained the problems I’m having but let me know if I can clarify in any way.

Sooo, I finished 10 rows of the first part of the pattern (beg at sole), which led to the Beg patt section, and finally, to the BEG INSTEP SHAPING section of this pattern, which included six rows. After working these six rows, the pattern instructs you to:

Rep rows 3-6 incl 4 more times … 43 sts (16 sts either side of instep shaping).

I interpreted this to mean that I would need to work the previous rows (3-6) in the same way I did originally, turning my work as before.

Looking at the pattern again, I’m thinking I should not have turned but kept going down the row of 43 stitches?

Ugh. Time for a break, but if anyone can offer any help, that would be great.

What is the name of your pattern and designer?

Hi. The name the pattern is Pat-A-Cake #5008 from Shepherd Wool. I bought the pattern from an Etsy seller a couple years ago but it’s no longer there or anywhere else to my knowledge.

If you can post a photo of your work and the pattern photo that may help. I don’t see the pattern online.

Yes. Here you go.

Ok, thank you. Repeat rows 3-6 with the turns 4 times more. You should end this section with 16sts on either side of the instep. If you’re a stitch off that’s ok.
In the following directions you’ll be working across all the sts, only turning at the end of a row. This will include the ribbonhole row and following to shape the ankle of the bootie.

It looks very nice so far.

Great. Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. :slightly_smiling_face:
