Am knitting a Dale of Norway sweater from Salt Lake collection. The bottom ribbing is 272 sts. The instructions say to add 22 more sts “evenly spaced” to join the main body of the sweater to the bottom ribbing. The problem is to get the 22 sts spaced evenly. Have tried counting 12 then adding one, the 13 and adding one but it does not seem to come out ! Any suggestions?

Try counting 12, adding one, then doing this one more time, then count 13 and add one. Repeat to end.
It doesn’t have to be exactly even, just pretty close. 272 divided by 22 is 12.3636. So add a stich every 12 stiches twice, then add one after 13. And then 2 twelves again and another 13 and so on.
If that makes any sense. It just has to come fairly close not exactly.
Someone better at math may have better advice for you.
