Help with adding new yarn

I’m somewhat getting frustrated. I can’t figure out how to join new yarn to my project aside from using the magic knot. I’ve seen countless videos and tried different methods (overlapping, twist and weave, etc) however, most of them are about adding new yarn with a stockinette stitch where the purl side is the WS.
As Ive posted before, i’m knitting a cardigan using the linen stitch, however, the purl side seems to be the RS if one looks at the photos.

Personally, I like that the purl side is the RS because it gives the cardigan some texture.

I maybe overthinking this or even having a brain fart, but any suggestions or clarity would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and by the way, the first st of every row is slipped.

The videos may not use linen stitch but the yarn joins are applicable. A splice, an overlap, Russian join are all useful here. There are undoubtedly others.

Some like the overlap leave yarn tails that need to be woven in later but they can always be woven in on the WS. What it it that isn’t working about the joins or that you don’t like? Is it possible to join the new yarn at a seam edge?

The ends seem to always end up on the right side of the work (purl side) and I can’t figure out how to position the yarn so the ends are on the linen side.

I’ve tried again with the overlap method starting near the end of the knit row. I’m now on the purl row where normally, the two yarns held together should be knitted as one, but I guess due to the k1,sl1 / p1, sl1 nature of the stitch, not everything has been reverted to a single strand yet. I guess I’d have to wait until I get back to the knit row?

Thread the yarn ends onto a tapestry needle and use the needle to lead the end through to the WS.

You can overlap for several sts or just for one or two of the knit sts. That’ll be enough to join the yarn. The ends can be threaded through to the WS.

To keep the yarn ends on the WS (the knit side in your case), start with the new yarn tail at the WS alongside the old strand, move this double strand to the back (RS) to work a knit stitch then move the double strand to the WS again and drop the old tail of yarn . That way the yarn ends will stay on the WS.

Your knitting looks very nice and even and should make a lovely sweater.
