Help with a sweater bind off

Hello!

I am making my first official garment (not a scarf or hat!) and have a question about binding off to shape the neckline/armholes. (I hope this isn’t a “Duh!” question–I had to get outside help the first time I made I-cord ) After I bind off the required number of stitches. I am left with one stitch on my right needle. What am I supposed to do with that lone stitch? This is the only thing holding me back at this time. I just need some help.

As a self-taught knitter, this website has been SOOOOOOOOO helpful. Thanks!

Just thread your remaining yarn through that last loop and pull tight. If your left over ball is too big, just cut it leaving a tail to sew in, or open the loop bigger so you can get the ball through. This is a good idea if you need it for sewing up your work, it’s already attached!

I usually cut the yarn and pull the loop out.
