Hi I am new to this site, I would say I am not a experience knitter but recently retired so I have taken it up again but have come across a problem I am so confused with. I am knitting the debbie bliss baby Diamond fairisle cardigan but am stuck on the button band. Picking up and Knitting the actual band is not the issue, it say to break yarn and leave the stitches on the needle, then to pick up 6 stitches along lower edge abd continue on the stitches left on needle, but my needle is pointing the other way. Help please I have attached photos

Debbie Bliss patterns are so pretty but at the same time, so frustrating. You’ve worked the pattern correctly but as you’ve noted, the needle is in the wrong orientation. Move the sts to the other needle so that after you pick up sts at the row ends you’ll be able to knit across those held sts.
