Help with a pattern?

Hello I’m having trouble understanding what is coming next in my knitting pattern. Can someone please help translate what it’s asking?

Shape front slope
“K to last 2sts, K2tog. Keeping pattern correct, dec 1 st at front edge on every foll 6th row until 40 sts rem, then on every foll 8th row until 32 sts rem. Work 11 rows, thus ending with RS facing next row.”

Shape shoulder
“Cast off 11 sts at beg of next and foll alt row. Work 1 row. Cast off rem 10 sts.”

Welcome to KH!
Knit to the last 2sts, k2tog. Call this row, row 1. Then you will decrease on the last 2sts of rows 7,13,19,25,31 and so on until you get to 40sts. (That’s every 6 rows.)
Let’s say the final dec ever 6th row is actually row 31. You would then decrease on rows 39,47,55,63,71,79,87 and 95. (That’s every 8 rows.) That would take the stitch count from 40 to 32 sts.
Once the decreases are complete, work 11 rows in your pattern stitch. You’ll end with the RS facing for the next row. Cast off 11sts at the beginning of the row and then at the beginning of the next RS row and on the following RS row, cast off the remaining 10sts.

I think it helps to write out a pattern when it asks to do something “every x row”. Here’s what I would write for myself:

K to last 2sts, K2tog

2. Work in pattern
3. Work in pattern
4. Work in pattern
5. Work in pattern
6. Dec one stitch on front edge, work in pattern) <- until 40 stitches remain
