Help with a pattern, please?

Hello! I am newer to knitting, and am wanting to make sure I am reading this pattern correctly, and I guess am also a little confused? It reads R37: (k2tog, k28) twice. I am knitting in the round (using the magic loop method), so I am guessing on row 37, knit 2 together on stitch 28, on both sides?

Also, it later reads R39: (k27, k2tog) twice. The pattern continues to alternate (k#, k2tog) and (k2tog, k#). What does this mean?

Any help would be appreciated!

R37: (k2tog, k28) twice.

R37 stands for round/row 37
Twice means you do what is within the () twice
k2tog means knit next 2 stitches together
k28 means knit th enext 28 stitches

So all together you should knit the next 2 stitches together, then knit the next 28 stitches, then repeat that all two times.

On R37 k2tog, k28, k2tog, k28.
On R39 k27, k2tog, k27, k2tog.
For R 41 k2tog, k26, k2tog, k26, and so on.
Each row is going to have 1 st less between the k2tog, and the k2tog will alternate being before the knit sts, or after it.

Thank you, that was helpful!
