Help with a lacy pattern

Hello Fellow Knitters,

I hope someone can help me, I’m seriously ready to tear out my hair!

I’m making a bolero from a pattern in a book called “Knits to be Noticed.” Maybe someone has made the Lace Bolero. Anyway, it’s knit side to side or in this case from sleeve-edge to sleeve-edge. I’m working on the right side of the top now where I bind off 10 sts and then work 10 sts in stockinette st. EVEN though I marked the row where I ended the left side (as I’m supposed to begin the same row on the rights side) I cannot get back in pattern to save my life! I lost count at 20 the times I have tinked back. I’m going to wear out the yarn. This is a Birthday gift for a friend (her B/day is early June) so my question is, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can find out which row I’m supposed to be working on to stay in pattern? I don’t have any knitting friends to help me where I live and the nearest yarn shop is over an hour away. Thank you!

This is on the other side of the 10 you BO? Figure where you were on the first side before the bound off sts, count over 10 and then begin on what would have been the 11th st.

I just wanted to say thank you for your help and suggestion. I’ll give it a try!:knitting:
