Help with a knitting pattern

Hi,

I am knitting Woolly Wormhead’s pattern Karenin and I need help with part of the pattern. Below is the section I need help with

'To join the pieces, with yarn tails on both pieces
to the left, and with Ear Band held to the left of
the Flap, purl across the 42 [48, 54, 58, 64] Ear
Band stitches then purl 11 [12, 13, 15, 16] (to the
centre of the flap) – place stitch marker to indicate
new start of round [64, 72, 80, 88, 96 sts]

I do not understand this part. I am knitting size 4 (58 stitches).

So far I have knit my earband which I have on one needle and the flap is on another needle and that is as far as I have got. Could I ask for help with this maybe put it more simply.

Trish

Welcome to KnittingHelp!

You’re going to be joining the flap onto the stitches for the earband. It’ll look something like this:

M is the marker and the arrows are the direction of knitting.
I’ve drawn it with something of a point to the flap but it may be the front flap which is more rectangular. Either way it’s the same idea. If it’s the ear flap there will be similar directions on the other side of the circle for the second earflap.

That’s such a warm and toasty looking hat. It’ll be much appreciated in the cold weather.

Thank you for responding to my shout out for help. I will give it a try as you made it very clear.

Trish

Can anyone suggest where I can get help with a Woolly Wormhead knitting pattern. I have tried Raverly and the Woolly head blog without success.

Well, we are called KnittingHelp and we’ll do our best to answer any questions you may have.
You can quote a couple of rows of the pattern that are causing the problem. Don’t give us a large portion of the pattern due to designer copyright please.

Hello
Please do post your questions, as many as you need to get back on track with your hat - I always ask a lot when I’m stuck and this forum is so helpful and welcoming. Don’t hesitate.

Is it still the same place you’re stuck on at the moment?
