help with 3rd row of pattern

hi, im really struggling on the 3rd row of the pattern of 4 rows, the other 3 rows are very basic so could do with some advice on where to position needles and wool, here goes, p2 *yon , sl1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p2, im doing soething wrong as the holes are to big thanks in antisipation.

There is probably a difference as well in the size of the holes between the yarn over needle between a purl and a knit, and the yarn round needle between a knit and a purl. The direct yon should create a smaller hole because the yarn travels a shorter distance.
This article uses the yon and then works the yarn over through the back loop if necessary to keep the eyelet open on the next row.
