Help what is
Hi and welcome!
Knit 2 sts together, bring the yarn to the front between the needles, bring the yarn over the righthand needle to the back and then around again between the needles to the front and purl the next stitch. The yft, yrn will give you a new loop over the needle to balance the stitch lost in the k2tog decrease.
For the k1, p1, yfwd (yarn forward), the yarn is already in front from the purl stitch, leave it there and slip one stitch and then bring the yarn to the back over the righthand needle to knit the next stitch. That will also give you another loop over the needle for another stitch added.
Beautifully clear explanation. I had ripped out the whole piece in frustration so will now start again with this new advice. Great:yay:
After reading your excellent explanation of what to do after a purl stitch followed by yfwd, sl1… I would like to say a big THANK YOU …brilliant explanation!!!
