Help! What is Jacquard technique for colorwork?

I am doing my first motif, and it says to work intarsia and jacquard colorwork. I found what intarsia is in the video section on this website, but I cant figure out what the Jacquard technique is and how it differs from intarsia. Help! Thanks!

I believe that as far as hand knitting is concerned, they’re the same. I’ve only found Jacquard knitting with regard to knitting machines.

Jacquard patterns are also known as Fair Isle patterns - it’s the technique of working with at least two colours in a row, (though, technically, Fair Isle, from what I recall, is worked using only two colours per row).

Ok, then there may be some places in your pattern that have you strand the yarn across the back rather than use a new strand for each color change–if they’re only a stitch or two apart. Just keep your yarn loose so the stitches don’t bunch.
