The pattern says…K2, sm, *yo, k1, (yo, k2tog) repeat to next marker…
Do I repeat just the part in parenthesis (yo, k2tog) or do I repeat from the *yo, k1, (yo, k2tog)?
It works either way with the number of stitches so I’m not sure what to do. Thanks, Verna
Help understanding pattern repeat
In case you did not get a reply, you would only repeat what is in the ( ) till you come to the last two stiches. You would place the marker and then K2.
Any time that it says to repeat in a patter you would only do what is in the ( ) and then end with what is at the being of that row prior to the ( ).
Since your pattern has an * as well you probably need to repeat from the * a little later in the directions for the row. All you have here are the directions to the “next marker”.
The pattern says…K2, sm, *yo, k1, (yo, k2tog) repeat to next marker…
You K2, slip the marker, then you see the *. Just go ahead with the yarn over, and theK1, then you have the (yo, k2tog), that is what you repeat to the next marker. Somewhere it may tell you to repeat from the * as well. Then you would go to the * and when you come to the (yo, K2tog) you would repeat it to the next marker again.
I hope that is clear.
