HELP Too Many Stitches!

Hi, I am making a beautiful hat. There is no errata note, but it doesn’t seem to make sense to me. After Row 13, there are 16 stitches. So, when I got to row 15, there are 2 more stitches left on each needle- if you don’t understand what I mean, here is an excerpt of the pattern. (I added the pattern because I had to purchase it-

Mila hat
Row 1: yo, k1, yo, k1
Row 2: knit all stitches
Row 3: yo, k2, yo, k2
Row 4: knit all stitches
Row 5: yo, k3, yo, k3
Row 6: knit all stitches
Row 7: yo, k4, yo, k4
Row 8: knit all stitches
Row 9: yo, k5, yo, k5
Row 10: knit all stitches
Row 11: yo, k6, yo, k6
Row 12: knit all stitches
Row 13: yo, k7, yo, k7
Row 14: knit all stitches
Row 15: yo, k1, yo, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6

I should note, the pattern begins with 2 stitches on each dpn

So after row 13 there should by 16sts and you have 18sts per needle? Is it possible that you missed counting rows and worked an extra row? Do you currently have 8sts between yarn overs?

I do have 16 stitches, but then row 15 won’t work- because I will have 2 left over. I just went and counted it again, and recounted how it would be if I did row 15, and again I would have 2 left.

Ah, now I see what you mean. There are no projects on Ravelry so it’s difficult to tell about the experience of others. The pattern numbers would work if you skipped rows 13 and 14 but since this is a paid pattern, it would be good to contact the designer. You can send an email through her address on Ravelry

Thanks, I have contacted her already, and unfortunately, she cannot reply till next week because she is away! Thanks for clearing this all up for me, now I know it wasn’t me!
