Saw a ridiculously high-priced scarf ($80!) at Anthropologie and promised to make it for my daughter. It was knitted lengthwise in three colors, K2 P2 rib, but each end is a “V”. I can knit it with regular square ends and then miter each end and tack in place to form the “V” but thought someone could tell me how to cast on the length and then form the “V” a real way.
Yes, it is the Bella Italia scarf on page 1. I have already purchased some gorgeous alpaca yarns and a nice metallic to pull with it. The fun fringe tie at the end I can figure out, too. I just don’t know enough about knitting to figure out how to get it into that pointed v shape while knitting lengthwise. Your tips will be appreciated!
Couldn’t you just do it all in one piece lengthwise and increase at the edges to make the widening part of the V and then decrease at the edges to make the narrowing part of the V?
 Ingrid beat my answer! Gotta learn to type faster. :teehee:
Aha! I knew it was only simple increases and decreases, but I couldn’t visualize it (I am a beginner knitter.) So, I just sat down and drew out a diagram and realized what these two responses meant. Thanks!
