Help! Sleeves too Long!

Hi all,

I am putting together a sweater for my DH. All the compenents are done and I’ve attached the front and back at the shoulder seams and set in one sleeves completely. I put it over his head and found the sleeve is way too long. The edge at his hand is the cast on edge. Can I unravel that and just bind it off at the right length? Has anyone done this before? The edge is a k5 p1 rib so it’s not that intricate of a pattern. It’s the Manly Sweater from the Stitch n’ Bitch book.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, I did it when I made sweaters that were too short for my boys–but same idea. I’ll let Carmen find the link, though… :teehee:

Wow, Thanks everyone. What a great site! The sleeve is increased almost from the first row so I’ll have to separate and graft it as close as I can, but it just might work. I’ll report back on how it comes out.
