Help! Sewing lining into knit bag

Hi,

So I’ve been scouring the Internet, looking for how-to photos and instructions… I knit this lovely tote bag, and would love to line it with some cotton, maybe even add a zipper.

Does anyone know of some well-photographed sites on how to do this? Or could you walk me through the basic steps? I guess what I’m having the most trouble with is the zipper, and how to attach the cotton lining itself to the knit bag. Any feedback is appreciated: VintagePlum@yahoo.com. Thanks. :slight_smile:

Thanks Julie, this is helpful! My purse is not felted, however… Do you have any examples of non-felted knit? (I’m worried the thread will show when I line it, but I guess it wouldn’t matter if it was the same shade as the yarn… I don’t know…)

in this pattern she links to these lining instructions, hers is unfelted.
(I made the bag, but not the lining - but the bag pattern was spectacular!)

They do make clear thread that I’ve used to line non-felted bags before, perhaps that would be an option?
