HELP! Rowan Lima Collection "Sean" womens wrap

I am very confused. 8 row pattern
CO97
R1 K1* P3 K1 to end
R2 K4 *P1 K3 to last K1
R3 as row 1
R4 K1 *yfwd, K3tog,yrn, P1, rep from last * to last 4 sts, yfwd, K3 tog.yfwd,K1
R5 K1, P1, K1, P2 rep from to last 4 sts (P1,K1) twice
R6 K2, P1, K1, *K2, P1, K1, rep from * to last 2 sts, K2
R7 as row 5
R8 K2, P1,*yfwd, K3tog,yrn, P1, rep from * to last 2 sts, K2
My question: Won’t this get narrower and narrower as I progress?? I am ready to start row 8 and am already down to 84 sts. That’s 26 stitches down every 8 rows!!!
in R4 the yarn is forward after the perl so I moved to the back for the K3tog. Does that make me miss picking up the 3rd stitch?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the ‘yfwd’ and ‘yrn’ on row 4 are the same as YOs, so the stitch count stays the same. There’s 2 incs for every k3tog.
