Help reading pattern

I am trying to knit my first tank top and can’t figure out what the pattern is trying to tell me when decreasing the armholes.

It says:

To work fully fashioned decrease on RS k2, ssk, work across in established pattern until 4 stitches rem, end k2tog, k2.

How is knitting two stitches before the decrease helping to shape the armhole??

Thanks for the explaining this to me!

It puts the decreases in from the edge instead of right at them. If you look at storebought knits, that’s how they are and they look more professional, which is what is mean by ‘full fashioned’. They shape the armhole because they’re still fairly close to the edges.
