I’m shaping a neck on the back of a sweater. Pattern says to BO 6 stitches. When I bind off, I end up with one stitch where there were two - as I knit one, then knit another then slip the first over the second and therefore one disappears. So, if a pattern says to BO 6 stitches…how many am I really knitting? Does that make sense?
You want to have 6 stitches less than what you started with. Each time you put the stitch over the end of the needle, that’s one less.
thanks! that makes sense!
