I am six inches into knitting a fair isle cardigan sweater that will be steeked. I just noticed now that it’s twisted. I have over 400 stitches so I don’t want to rip it all out. Can I untwist it after I steek it and before I do the sleeves? Is there ANY way to continue on this sweater or do I have to scrap it all and begin again?
Normally I have no problem ripping out things but this is so far along and so many stitches that I dread starting it over for fear I wont’ have enough yarn to complete it. It uses over 15 balls of different colored yarns. Thanks for any help.
What I would do is to reinforce and cut the steek that’s done so far. This way you can straighten it out. If it’s twisted, the yarn will wrap around the needle and be a pain, and when it’s long, it will be very cumbersome.
Thank you so much!! I never experienced this before so had no idea how I could salvage all the work I did already which came out very well. So I will reforce it now and then cut the steek and then continue on knitting in the round once I straighten it out on the needles. Thanks again.
