I’m a newbie and the right side and wrong side of my throw keep flipping. I’m not sure which side I’m supposed to be doing what on. The pattern is very simple - 2 rows k1 p1, 2 rows p1 k1. Do I start knit rows on the right side and start purl rows on the wrong side? And how do I know if I am working the right way?

You’re probably only doing one row on the RS or the WS side, or an extra one. How many sts do you have?
The pattern is -
RS row - k1 p1 [B]and[/B] WS row - k1, p1, ([I]both[/I] rows start with k1) then you switch -
RS - p1 k1 [B]and [/B]WS p1, k1 ([I]both[/I] rows start with p1)
Mark the RS row with a safety pin or tie a different color piece of yarn through a stitch.
