Hi I am so lost. I hate knitting in the round so doing a pattern on straight and its not going very well
My row 27 is a purl but I have 40 stiches so where do they all go for row 27??
I think this pattern is just too hard for me ![]()

Looks like row 27 is a short row. You will only work across 26sts, ssk and then turn. You’ll leave unworked sts on the left needle. When you turn, switch the needles in in your hands just as you would if you were at the end of a row knitted flat. Proceed with the directions for row 28.
Don’t worry about the sts that are left unworked. You’ll get to them later in the pattern.
What are you making and what is the name of your pattern?
You’ve gotten this far so I’m sure you can get past this part too.
Its a Hulk Doll it seems to be way more complicated then it needs to be. I am so confused after row 29 and I am lost again. It is just the decease on his body, is there an easier way to achieve the same thing?
I found several.

Can you quote the instructions for the dec or for a couple of rows that are the problem? We can’t post large portions of patterns here due to copyright but a couple of rows are ok. If it’s any consolation, I think toys and dolls are the most difficult patterns.
this is the guy causing all the trouble.
Row 29 on is my problem. Is there an easier way to do my decrease without the turning and slips ?
These rows are decreasing and shaping at the same time, somewhat like turning a sock heel. I don’t know an easier way other than working each row as given. It seems like 10 rows and you’ve done it.
