In the book “the Great American Afghan” I am working on square #14. “IN OTHER WORDS” section on the directions there will ALWAYS be 39 stitches, however on row 11 i get 37…please help me with this problem…
the directions for this pattern is
k1,p1,sl 1,[p 1, k3] twice,p1, sl 1, p1,k3, [p1,sl 1] twice,p1,k3, rep between *'s once. k1.
k1,p1,sl 1,[p 1, k3] twice,p1, sl 1, p1,k3, [p1,sl 1] twice,p1,k3, rep between *'s once. k1.
k1(1)*p1(2), sl 1(3), [p 1(4), k3(7)] twice(11), p1(12), sl 1(13), p1(14), *k3(17), [p1(18), sl 1(19)] twice (21), p1(22), k3(25), rep between *'s once. (38) k1. (39)
The numbers that I have put in parentheses are the number of sts you should have up to that point in the row and I came out with 39.
You are coming up with 37, so being two sts off, perhaps you are not doing something twice like in the brackets. Did you do the [p1, sl 1] two times? If you just did it once that would leave you two off. I would go back and look at your sts on that row and see what you are missing.
