Pattern I found at Knitting Pattern Central

Thank you in advance::wink:

Also I tried this Double Knit Hat pls help me too:::

Row 1: K1 MC, *(K1 CC, K1 MC), repeat from * 4 times. (You can also K1 MC, P1 CC, which will make the hat reversible, but I was being lazy and didn’t feel like purling.)
Row 2 (and every even row): P1 MC, *(P1 CC, P1 MC), repeat from * until end of the row.
Row 3: K1 MC, K1 CC, M1 MC, M1 CC, *(K1 MC, K1 CC) repeat from * 3 times, M1 MC, M1 CC, K1 MC (7 MC and 6 CC total)
Row 5: K1 MC, K1 CC, M1 MC, M1 CC, *(K1 MC, K1 CC) repeat from * 5 times, M1 MC, M1 CC, K1 MC (9 MC and 8 CC total)
Row 7: K1 MC, K1 CC, M1 MC, M1 CC, *(K1 MC, K1 CC) repeat from * 7 times, M1 MC, M1 CC, K1 MC (11 MC and 10 CC total)
Row 9: K1 MC, K1 CC, M1 MC, M1 CC, *(K1 MC, K1 CC) repeat from * 9 times, M1 MC, M1 CC, K1 MC (13 MC and 12 CC total)

Repeat until:
Row 21: K1 MC, K1 CC, M1 MC, M1 CC, *(K1 MC, K1 CC) repeat from * 21 times, M1 MC, M1 CC, K1 MC (25 MC and 24 CC total)
Row 22: P1 MC, *(P1 CC, P1 MC), repeat from * until end of the row.
Row 23: Slip 1 MC (purl-wise), *(K1 CC, Slip 1 MC), repeat from * until end.

I tried to cast on 9 Sts and on Row 1 which seems to be double now so it makes 18 Sts, but when I read Row 3 and have increas ( M1 )…
Why is it that it only counts 13 Sts…?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!::wink:

Leonora I’ve moved your post to a separate thread so it doesn’t get lost in the other one.

On your first question, you would repeat those 2 rows until it’s the length you need that’s half your waist measurement. Then you work an increase row the ‘incl’ is really ‘inc 1’ some fonts make the small L and 1 look the same.

For the hat pattern, see my other reply below, I misread the pattern.

“Row 1: K1 MC, *(K1 CC, K1 MC), repeat from * 4 times. B[/B]
Row 3: K1 MC, K1 CC, M1 MC, M1 CC, *(K1 MC, K1 CC) repeat from * 3 times, M1 MC, M1 CC, K1 MC (7 MC and 6 CC total)”

For row 1, I see only the 9sts. For row 3 there are 4 increases so that gives you a total of 13sts, 7 MC and 6 CC.
Can you give us a link to the pattern or a pattern name?

Oh, at the end of row 1 you should have only 9 stitches, and the same on row 2. Then you begin the increases with Row 3 andthe following RS rows.

These 2 Patterns are found at:
www.knittingpatterncentral.com

  1. Womens dress------ Anita Sweaterdress
    2.Hat Patterns-------- Double Knit Snowboarding Hat with Earflaps

Ok thanks for the link. For the hat

the cast on is 9sts for the earflaps and row 1 works those 9sts. Don’t multiply the number of sts in row 1 by 2. The pattern is for double knitting which is shown in the video from the top of this page, Advanced Techniques. I think the notes before your pattern are worth reading and it’s worth clicking on the link to the article in Knitty as well.
Row 3 has the 4 increases to 13sts.
Should work out to be a very warm hat, great for snowboarding or just shoveling the stuff!
