Help on Mabel dress sleeve!

I just started sleeves on a traditional Mabel dress for my grandaughter to be and am stuck on this part of pattern instructions…Increase row: rib (1) stitches,* up to 1 stitch,rib 5 stiches, repeat from * to last (1) stitches, up 1 stitch, rib(1) stitches… Very confused

Any Help so appreciated!!!

Do you have a link to the pattern? To ‘rib x’ sts means work that many sts in the rib pattern; I don’t know what ‘up’ means unless it’s a translated term for ‘increase’. Would that work?
