Help on Berroco Lee - Girl's Empire Dress Pattern

I tried to knit a dress for my girlfriend’s daughter who is 16 months old now.

The pattern I found on Berroco’s website is called Lee, an empire shirt-dress.

It is my first time to knit a lace pattern, not sure if I did anything wrong. After I finish the first 12 rows of the lace pattern, I ended up with 72 stitches (for the size 2 pattern). With the way it goes, it will be tapering too fast, before I even reach the row that decrease 17 stitched evenly.

I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

It doesn’t look like you should be reducing anything yet. It appears to me that all the rows should end up with the same number of stitches, so I suspect you’ve missed some yo’s somewhere.
